I have Canon Pixma 4000 which has a picbridge port in front of it, is it possible to plug a wireless usb adapter and plug that into the printer or no. I plugged my bluetooth adpater to see if it fits it does now what else do I need to get it to work ??

It doesn't work that way. The printer has no idea how to communicate with a usb wireless adapter. You'll need an adapter that specifically is made for attaching printers to. These are called ethernet print servers. Most of them are wired versions; you plug your usb or parallel printer cable into the print server and out the other end is an rj45 ethernet jack that goes to your hub. If you want to make it wireless, you then use a wireless bridge. There are some devices that do both in one unit but they cost more. The point is, however, that you cannot just stick a pc usb wireless adapter on and expect it to work.
