I have a couple computers I want to hook up to the net (I already have a router connecting a few other ones). The one that's connected to the router only has 1 onboard network connection. However, I have a separate NIC that I'm not using. Is it possible to install the NIC in this computer and hook up the other computer to this NIC which would give it net access via the first computer? I would think it's the same concept as dual-LAN except the board doesn't have dual LAN natively.

If this doesn't work I may just get a second router and just place it behind the first router for a few more connections.

First off, wrong forum, but I'll humor...

Yes, perfectly possible. It's done in windows with Internet Connection Sharing. If your router uses NAT though, you can just pick up a switch and connect both computers directly into the switch, which uplinks to the router.

What he said. I used to this when routers were real expensive. Real easy to do.
