Making OE not load Messenger in XP

Basically, what the title says...I unchecked the "Automatically sign on to Messenger" option, but it still loads every time I open OE. Is there a way to stop this?

If you just remove messanger, it takes forever to load. Make sure you do the registry hack too.

Maybe if I had just deleted the program files...
my load times are just the same though.
