I have been looking at linux distro's and i want to install one on my MSi wind netbook. Really just have two questions that some people may be able to help with. Thank you in advance!

1. What linux distro is your fav for netbooks?

2. I currently use Evernote for note taking for my courses and need something to replace evernote or some sort of school note taking so I can keep track of notes and assignments. Only thing is I dont know of any software that is like evernote for Linux.

never heard of evernotes, looks nifty. I just use text files and keep things organized, or a physical notepad, and if i misplace something i use my desktop search *shrug*

a quick search suggests Luminotes, zim wiki, or tiddlywiki.

I use Ubuntu-eee on my EeePC. I've tried a few distros on various computers, and I always come back to Ubuntu.

I use Ubuntu, RedHat, CentOS, Debian, and Fedora for various endeavors. There is one thing I am certain of though, and I don't see changing anytime soon. And that is: if you have to ask, the answer is Ubuntu.

It depends on Deb or RPM branch that you are familiar with. And, you might want to look at distribution that support XFCE, LXDE, or Enlightenment windows manager. If you are adventurous then a *box or IceWM would work just fine with low system requirement.

Pick your flavor here.

PS. My hardware is quite old and it ran Gnome just fine, but under XFCE everything snappyer.
