i'm in love!

it's so much faster than mozilla (which i was using off and on, mostly off because of the bloat and general unspeediness, and unbrowserlyness...)

it's so much easier to use and customize too! i love it. it's the way I want. this is wonderful 🙂

like i said, i'm in love 🙂

i think i may be removing internet explorer from my desktop and start menu, and completely forgetting about it. something i was unable to do with mozilla. this is awesome, i cant get over it!

and no, opera fanboys, i dont want that crappy browser 😛 mostly cause i dont want to pay for it. this is... great!

this is an uber fast machine.

but mozilla is super slow to start up. at that point, it'd be faster to use IE.

but this has so much easy customization. i love it.

I've been using Firebird for a number of weeks now as my main browser and think its great however, I wouldn't trash IE just yet...a number of sites (Internet Banking sites especially) don't seem to work too well on Firebird.

just one thing.

anyone know how to change the scrolling slowness on the mouse? my wheel doesnt go fast enough. 😛

it doesnt work with the cruise control buttons on the mouse, 🙁 for that, though.

Yeah, but that's the fault of the site, not Firebird. If everybody would actually follow the W3C standard and not bastardize it a la MS, it wouldn't be a problem.

newer than mx 700?

care to tell me why i should ditch an 80 dollar mouse?

hmm, i must say, i am impressed... none of the mozilla slowness at all!

but... can someone tell me why this is a better browser than IE? the advantage(s) isn't really obvious to me yet...

i really like the toolbars better... completely customizable. the bookmarks toolbar is very nice too, as when i get on the computer, there are a few sites i visit MANY times a day. this helps with that. it's nice. i like this setup 🙂

TAB!!!!!!
Very handly when surfing on forums.

I have never really understood the big complaint IE people use about mozilla being slow to start. It is slower but who cares? Once its started I usually keep my browser open sometimes for days.

I always find myself going back to IE. There's just nothing wrong enough about it to make me switch.

The extra few seconds it takes for all these other browsers to open just turns me off to begin with. If I can get past that part, it's usually something else. I didn't like the scroll issues (which are apparent here too) with the other browsers. Netscape 4.x/7.0 is fine with that, but there are other issues with Netscape that I don't even need to go into.

If someone can just mimic all of IE and even enhance it from there, I'd be excited. But that's never going to happen for obvious reasons. I see all these other browsers as good competitors, but not ready for prime-time just yet... just like the Linux vs. Windows debacle.

<-- not even an MS fanboy. MS simply knows use-ability best.

You should try Crazy Browser. It uses IE but adds features to it like tabbed browsing and a pop-up stopper. Been using if for several months now and I never use regular IE anymore.

Firebird rocks.

Firebird too slow to open? IE is faster? Well .. if firebird had direct access and could intergrate into the OS, it would start instantly, just like IE.

Firebird is only in 0.6 and optimizing it to start faster.

Phoenix doesn't open any faster/slower than IE.

Walley- My cruise buttons on my MX700 work just fine with Phoenix.

regardless of *why* it's slower, it's still slower... which is all that really matters (though i'll admit, it's a helluva lot faster than regular mozilla)
