i accidentally deleted some pictures from my cannon sd300
i have some undelete software but it needs to be a drive... and unlike most digial cameras when i plug it in it doesn't make a drive, windows just deals with it with the camera/scanner wizzard

anyone know how to make that into a drive?

thanks
david

You are pursuing a will-o-the-wisp. Remove the media from the camera. There then no pictures at all in the camera, right?

OK put that media in a good reader/writer. If you can recover nothing that way, there is nothing to recover.

Basic rule - do not connect your camera to a computer. Just move the mdeia from one to another.

Every digital camera user should have (must have!) a decent reader/writer device - USB 2. Beyond that, there is no need to buy anything else. I have been using digiacams since 1995, and am on my 5th. I learned right away with #1 - never connect to the computer!

A reader/writer is the only way you can get the media to appear as a drive and apply any sort of recovery tools. Chances are - it won't work. Digital image files are so complex than any part missing can be catastrophic.

Your problem is the Canon software that allows you to connect to the computer. Should never be installed!

QFT. Got mine for $8 @ Fry's on an impulse buy.

Not sure this will help but with my SD400 I just close down the wizard and open the file manager. In mine at least the camera acts like a drive in that I can move files back and forth with ease, get size info, etc.
