it says it can be 5.1 surround sound, but it only has 1 output, 1 input, and a mic (the standard looking built-in audio)

somewhere i read it can be transformed by making the input an output, but i cant figure out how to do it. the manual says refer online, but im not seeing much there either....

i have creative inspire 4.1 4400's, i know they arent the best but they sound good enough, and i cant get the rear (and sub, i think) to work

anyone have a clue?

thanks

You will need a cable with a 1/8" mini-plug on one end and and rca connector on the other end which goes into an external decoder (spdif).

Just go the the sound and multimedia control panel and then click on the audio tab. Under the sound playback you will see the output device. Click on the advanced button will bring up the speaker setup. If you set it to quadraphonic sound then your input jack will become your rear output. That should solve your problems.
