Making IE open new pages in a full screen

Hi folks,

For some reason, lately when I click on links and IE opens another page it opens it smaller than the full screen size.

Is there any way I can make it open up additional windows in full screen?

Thanks!

Close all but one window of IE.

Size that last window so that it fills the screen (don't use maximize).

File -> Close.

IE window sizing is a PITA... so is Outlook Express!

Thankfully there is a nice little utility that cures all this!

I suggest you go over HERE and download IE New Window Maximizer. End of problem...

I've been using it for a couple of years without any issues, so it's safe! 🙂

Thanks for the link.

That program does work fine but I was hoping maybe there was another way to get full screens instead of having to use another program running in the tray?

Yeah, I know what you mean, but you kinda have to pick your fights the life...

I don't know about you, but I have better things to do than beat my head against the wall, trying to patch MSIE bugs! 🙂

It's not a bug, it's the standard Windows behavior. Applications remember the size you last set them to. That's why the solution I provided works.

If that solution doesn't work, then that is a bug.

To control the size of primary and secondary Internet Explorer (IE) windows, start by closing all IE windows that you may have open. Then launch IE and go to one of your favorite websites, right-click on any link, and from the pop-up dialog box choose 'Open in New Window'. Size the secondary window the way you want all such windows to be. Don't use the 'Maximize' button, size the window manually. Now close it by clicking on the X icon at the top-right corner while holding down the Shift key. Repeat this for the primary window that remains. Your primary and secondary IE windows will now remember their relative size and position. However, as you have learned, you may have to repeat the process from time to time.
