I noticed that in Linux, Lutris makes Windows games installed in self-contained matter, meaning that the games don't touch the main registry (not that Linux has one) or other folders that are outside of the main game's folder, such as Documents, Saved Games, or \Users\name_of_user\AppData\local\name_of_game, etc. It's like they have there own Windows installation for each Windows games install in Linux. The registry settings for the game are inside a game folder that Lutris creates, therefore the game has it's own dedicated registry in a registry folder inside the main game folder Lutris creates. I prefer it this way and was wondering if there is a way to do this in Windows 11 or any other version of Windows for that matter. I have a lot of old Windows games from the 95-XP era that I want to play in Windows 11 but want them self contained with their own registry and folders associated with the game, like Lutris does it in Linux. Is this possible in Windows?

You can try sandboxie it installs anything you want into the sandbox you created for it.
Many old games don't run well, or at all, on win 11 though and this will only make it worse.
