Making Explorer settings perm ???

In win explorer, is there a way to perm set the display options, and have them stick? I like the files/folders to be listed by name, but seems like explorer lists some random order, size, date, whatever. Isnt there a way to tweak something so they ALWAYS list in name order?

I feel that perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but have you tried "Tools > Folder Options > View > Apply to all Folders" ?

Yes, but doesnt seem to stick. I thought there might be a registry tweak to customize perminately?
