Making DVD bootable in Win 7

I remember making a DVD or USB stick being pretty easy in XP but is there a way to make an ISO install image bootable without having special software? I have acronis true image and disk director but they seem to be for hard disks not optical media.

google for RUFUS - it will convert your win 7 to a bootable .iso image

or you could use ImgBurn - it will also create an .iso image

both are free but download from the author's sites, not CNET etc

AS LONG as you download from the orig author's website - CNET especially likes to load adware, one that took over my computer
