Making Cat-5 ethernet cables

Chatterjee

Senior member
Hi,

I'm interested in a site that has a good how-to on making cat-5 ethernet cables - both regular and cross-over. Anybody know a good site for this?

Thanks in advance!

Welp... usually there's instructions in the manual for your lan card hehe... It's relatively simple... just need a crimper, scissors, cables, and heads. You can invest in a tester too or just use your pc to test.

It is easier to buy a pre-made cable but not practical when you need to cable an office with customized lengths. It's also cheaper at some point when you make your own cables.

Btw.. thanks for the link. I'll check it out.
