i'm an ametuer cartoonist. VERY ametuer. basically, all the cartoons i've done is making animated gifs dance in sync with music to make short, rather dumb videos. but now i'm really interested in making some real cartoons the old fashioned way: by drawing several pictures on transparent cells. now, obviously, i have no real equipment to do any of this except for my computer and some pencils. so i'm trying to figure out what i DO need to get to do this, if it is at all something i should pursue.

the only idea i have so far is to buy a scanner and scan each drawing on my pc, much like taking a picture of a cell onto a camera. of course, i know this would take A LOT of time and soda.

what i'm basically asking is: is this a dumb idea? and if it isn't, do you think the scanner method is the best way to go?

p.s. this is purely for a hobbie, so i don't plan to make money or a career out of this. i also don't have much money to buy hardcore equipment..................................this is the dumbest thread i've ever made...:frown
