anyone know how to make an ordinary executable/app into a service in win2kpro, so that it can be set to run automatically at bootup...? is there a command-line option to install an app as a service, or is there any kind of utility from microsoft that allows an app to be made into a service..?

Somewhere to get started

[edit]Always remember that when seeking solutions, ANY information is probably helpful. It would generally go to follow that if a solution is available for NT3.51 and 4, then a similar solution would exist for w2k. Learn to do some research and use a search engine 🙂[/edit]

[edit again]Here is the w2k resource kit tool listing, that includes srvany.exe, the same tool listed in the knowledge base article referenced in the first article linked.[/edit]

shows page not available...

oops, never mind.. your link has a 'p' at the end which shouldn't be there...

also, the info regarding the resource kit is only for nt3.51 and nt4, not 2000...
