I'm a VCD noob. THe only thing I have been able to do is put 1 large file onto a CD in VCD format. However I have a bunch of small .avi and .mpg files. I know how to convert them to the proper format and rip the audio and all that stuff, but can you put multiple .avi and .mpg files onto 1 VCD? Can you make a menu file that will show up on your DVD player? If you put multiple files onto a VCD will they just play in succession and no menu file will show up? (I wasn't sure which forum to put this in)

Yes you can, but you can't do it using the Wizard in Nero. You have to do it the manual way. You can even choose to have thumbnails for each movie. When you put the VCD in the menu is the first thing that comes up and you access the different movies by using the number buttons on your remote. I can't be more specififc because I don't have Nero on this machine, but I assure you that it works. :)

Sweet, thanks fellas. So I can take old .avi and .mpg files and make a VCD that will sort of act like a DVD. I can't wait to put all my clips onto a VCD....don't worry, it's all legit.

Yes you can. Get TMPGEnc DVD Author (I hope the name is right) and make the menus from there. It will look like crap but it works.
