Making a replica WW2 gun out of 2x4

Thank you for the compliments. Unfortunately, the barrel jacket did not turn out nearly as well as I had hoped: it's a hack job, basically. My drill press likes to eat the wood to all hell, and it really ripped it up. And then to compound things, my Jig-saw doesn't cut straight, so some of the cutouts are uneven. But it will work for a Halloween costume.
