I'm making my girlfriend a red velvet cake for her birthday. I've found a bunch of recipies on the net, but I can't find any pictures of one, so I don't know what it's supposed to look like.

Someone help me out here...

Usually it is a round cake, I think with 3 layers, with white icing between each layer and covering the outside.

Oh yeah, and the cake is red, too. :p

Thanks!

Now tell me if I have the procedure right....

1. Make all the layers of the cake (either 2 or 3 my choice I guess)
2. After the layers are baked and cooled, I put the first layer down and cover the top w/ icing then stack the 2nd layer on top. (repeating if I have 3 layers)
3. After all the layers are stacked w/ icing between the layers, I spread the icing all around the rest of the cake

Is that right? (I've never made a cake before)

Yep, that's pretty much it.

And don't forget to save me a slice, because red velvet cake is tasty! :D

Hey I live 10 minutes away from Sanibel! Want to ship you a Red Velvet cake from the Bubble Room? You have to pay for the cake + shipping of course! :D
