Making a dvi cable

Have any of you guys had any experiance making your own dvi cable? I may have aj ob coming up where i need to get a dvi cable thru a 1 in conduit. Total length of the cable will be around 30 feet. In order to do this I would have to remove the dvi connector, pull my cable and re pin it after. I assume these connectors must be soldered. Any advice appreciated.

This isn't really highly techinical but I'd recommend you use a mini-DVI to DVI cable and just mount an adapter at the mini-DVI end once you've passed it through the conduit. Alternatively, an HDMI to DVI cable and attach the adapter at the end.

Something like this with this adapter over here

That may be too far to transmit over DVI... look it up.

There is no set limit for DVI. A cable can be of arbitrary length, so long as it passes the signal in spec. 50 foot cables are available without a lot of fuss. Sounds like the OP just intends to buy a (functional) cable and mod it as needed.
