Making a DVD Home Movie

What equipment, hardware, and software would it take to be able to record footage with a digital camcorder and then use a computer to create a DVD disk of the footage?

Sounds about right except I think a DVD-R (not DVD-RW) would be better - DVD-R is definately compatible with DVD players (I'm not sure about DVD-RW). Also DVD-R media is cheaper and write-once discs always last longer than rewritables (you probably want to keep your home movies for awhile).

Jiffy lube, a DVD-RW drive will always burn DVD-Rs....

but yes, dont use a DVD-RW disk to burn movies to... always use DVD-R:p
