im thinking about making a duct for my cpu fan. waht do you thoink of this idea? get some sort of bendable tubing, connect it around the CPU fan so it it sealed then run it to a open pci slot fir the intake point at the back of the case. so the air is coming though one of the pci slots, thought a tube, into the cpu fan and into the case.

i would run it straight out the side of the case. The further you run it the less pressure there will be. Also use the largest side tube you can.

I'm working on a similar mod.

Airfllow from there will be poor. On the other hand, if you don't want a side duct (don't know how that looks wierd unless the grill is goofy looking), how about elevating the entire case on thicker feet so a bottom intake could be used, and you'd get cooler air as well as more of it. You'd need filtering with that setup, of course.

I think that a PCI slot will not provide sufficient airflow, but the general idea is great.

I did something similar with a piece of flexible dryer duct (i made sure it was a non-conductive material, just to be safe). I had a hookup on the outside of the case, so I could either pull air from right outside the case, or I could extend it to pull air from outside the window in my dorm room (in the winter). it was neat to see my cpu running at 15 C. It made for a fun project. I'll be interested to see what you end up with.

edit: so post pics if you do it. :)
