Making a discussion forum for my school

vshah

Lifer
So i go to CMU, and surprisingly there is no online discussion forum for cmu students. The only thing available is a 15 year old email bulletin board (misc.market) which is supposed to be used just for fs/ft, but has become a discussion forum as well.

So, i'm setting up a forum for the school, and i need help thinking of a name. Should have "CMU" in it somewhere i think...

any suggestions? Thanks 🙂
-Vivan

EDIT: found a name

http://www.theblackchairs.com

"the black chairs" are the chairs in the center of the University Center that people often meet around 🙂

I really like that too, but it might be misunderstood.😱

That's the idea...

half the campus wouldn't understand it though

I'm pretty sure they would... "muff" has been around quite a while. Not like it's new slang.

it is a word other than n00b or l337 or pwn.

Be careful that the site doesn't turn into a bitch session by students. We had one for my major at purdue, and Profs heard about it. Hurt alot of Profs feelings and really caused some tension in the school. Moderate it well.

What!

Students expressing their opinions!
Gasp!

Can't have that, students might alert each other to those that don't care, or can't teach, or. . .

The possibilites are stupendous.

if it does take off, there are plenty of people who would want to moderate.
