Making a case for my computer, what should i make it out of?

Im making a dvd/mp3/cda/wmv/avi/mpg/what ever u can think of player, and i want to make myself a box that will fit with my t.v and vcr. Im planning on making it out of some sort of wood, maybe oak or something, and giving it a nice dark tint, with lots of varnish. Cool, or not cool?

Also, is there any danger about grounding?

I was going to take the motherboard grill i have in my comp now and lay it in the box, will that be sufficient?

How about Ground wood, that ways you don't have to worry abouts grounding,
cause it will already be ground....

I considered this a year or so ago, and lost interest. There are a ton of people that have successfully done it, wooden case that is, and you can find a world of info on it with a simple google search.

Seem slike I might have seen 1 or 2 at HardOCP forums in their case mods thread. (not adviseable if you are on dial-up)

Retro stereo is brushed aluminum with rosewood sides. That would be cool.

If you go with a veneer you can go with something really exotic. It's really not that hard.

you should do something creative, like build it into a printer, and attach the printer to itself...

haha, awesome :)

but naw, i just want the basic case to go with the t.v and vcr. Those cases are awesome (the ones posted) but theres no way in hell id be able to do that! :eek:
