I have never done one and am not sure how to. What do I do?. Basically I have downloaded a zip file from a site which is designed to wipe a hard drive, and am not sure do I extract the files then make a boot disk through nero or just put it on without extraction. Also I downloaded a cdr version of thios program and if anyone could tell me how to create a boot cdr disk that would be great. The link for this software is

http://dban.sourceforge.net/

If anyone could help that would be great. Also will this be easy to do? Do I just reinstall windows like a nromal format afterwards?

Yours sincerely

Hey Koozey,

The link below should help you in making a startup disk for a Windows OS.

Note that you DO NOT need dban or any 3rd party software if your main goal is to do a basic format. Simply make a boot disk and follow instructions during the Windows install. If using Windows ME or later you will probably want to use (and learn) fdisk from the bootdisk you make.
