Making a blu-ray digital copy for my tablet-

So I got myself a tablet (Nook HD+) and wanted to put some of my blu-ray movies on it. It's ultraviolet compatible and all that but all the ways of downloading a movie onto it only give me SD quality.

Which drives me nuts since my Ultraviolet account says I have access to HD copies.

So, I was going to just rip the files and sideload the some mp4 files onto my tablet, but I don't know what the best (free or pay) software is for it. I figure the HTPC area would know, but sorry if I'm posting in the wrong spot.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've only ripped blu ray to mkv files. Makemkv will do that for free, for at least a trial period.

Dunno if that helps you.

I use HandBrake to create MP4s for my Nook Color, but no hidef for me unfortunately, on this screen.

Thanks for the info guys. Oddly enough, the very next day I noticed there was an update for my HD+. Now it autodownloads the HD content. I still might try some ripping, though, for one of my blu-rays, Dark Knight Rises, isn't downloading due to some sort of restriction.
