I have never been to China, never want to go to China. That place just looks disgusting.

I'm sure there are beautiful places over there, but not for me.

That's just one city in China. China is gigantic.

I just visited Southeast China, Guangdong, in April. If you go to the rural areas, the air is perfectly fine. If you're in the city, it's pretty bad - not as bad as the above picture though.

China really needs an alternative source of energy. Wind, solar, nuclear, anything but coal and petro.

I'd go to China now; just not to any major cities due to that picture. That is ridiculous. I'm guessing the article states that shit is headed our way. I just freaked at that pic.

http://aqicn.org/city/beijing/ - Currect AQI - Beijing

The air pollution level this morning reached 251 on a scale of 300 in Beijing—and even higher, 278, in Shanghai. While 51-100 on the Air Pollution Index Scale is “good,” with no health implications, the air quality in China today is so poor that even healthy people will be noticeably affected; and will have trouble breathing and walking outside.
Air quality was even worse over the past weekend. Emergency response measures were adopted in Beijing when the city's air quality reached a level of 755, regarded as "beyond index." For the first time, Beijing activated a new plan restricting construction and industrial activity, curbing vehicle use by government officials and ordering schools to limit outside activity, said state-run Xinhua news agency.

This is China's attempt to take over the world. They're force-mutating a new class of humans that won't need to breathe.

You're not looking at the big picture. A lack of environmental laws means less cumbersome red tape for businesses and more jobs for all. It's all these obnoxious environmental protection shenanigans the liberals push that are preventing America from becoming the jobs paradise that China is.

For all the attention on China India is quickly overtaking them:
New Delhi’s air is the most polluted in the world, according to an international report that quantifies pollution levels, confirming findings by experts confounded by the lack of attention to the city’s problem.

The findings by the World Health Organization, released on Wednesday, show that the cities ranking second through fourth are also in India, in the central Hindi belt.

On Thursday in New Delhi, air pollution monitors measured levels of PM 2.5 — the small particles considered among the most dangerous for lung health — exceeding 350 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
