makeovers

I'm thinking of treating my fiance to a beauty salon makeover-type of treatment. It's a feel-good kinda thing for her... and it'd be interesting to see her in a new look (hair-style, makeup colors/style, etc.). How much should I expect it to run and where do I even start to look for someplace to do this ? Advice from women here would be nice. I don't think just any hair salon would do this type of thing... or do they ? Internet searches on this is useless.

i would think around $100. when my wife gets just her hair done it costs upward of around $60. add the extras and i'm sure it will escalate quickly.

$400 at least. I got my ex. a 2 hr full body massage, along with a full day at the spa all expenses paid. It was $675. :Q

EDIT: I miss read, I thought you meant a whole day.... if it's just hair and skin treatments, probably about $150.

So there's no such thing as... "I'm sending her in, can you give her a different look" ? This wouldn't be your typical getting-your-hair-done-again type of deal. Or are they all the same ?

Now this is starting to border on me saying her looks aren't good enough for me, but that's far from the truth. I think a fresh look (aside from the same one I've seen for the last 6 years I've been with her) would be interesting.

i would think you'd have to call a bunch of places and ask them if they can do that "different look" thing. there are probably too many places that are just generic haircut places.

however i'm sure there are plenty of (more expensive) places that do what you want. especially in nyc.

and i know exactly what you mean. when my wife gets her hair done, she looks completely different and it's a refreshing change of pace and there's also a lot of "extra" interest on my part

EDIT: on yahoo you can do a search in the yellow pages for salon in nyc and there are a bunch of hits.
