Make Windows Vista idiot proof?

Family friends have come to me to outfit them with a PC and I found a good deal on a Dell (didn't wanna build one for them, why bother with hassles of tech support) thing is Dell put windows vista on there. While I know I could put another OS like GoS that would be way easier for them to use, I'm not sure Dell will continue support if I do that.

What I'm asking is I remember seeing like a year ago someone post a picture of their parents desktop and it had 3 icons on them. I'm just wondering if you guys can suggest some methods of making Windows Vista locked down and easy to use.

Only thing they are going to need is internet and email, same plain old basic computing.

You could probably fiddle with the User Accounts. Give them a limited one instead of an Admin. I think that Vista (not in front of my desktop right now) lets you control what programs the user can use. Finally, leave UAC turned on. Yes, it is annoying and a great many people turn it off... but it at least leaves that one extra step in place just in case they change their mind before fiddling with things
