Make Windows boot up like a Dreamcast??

Here's a good one for you folks, I just got a VGA box for my Dreamcast and have it ran through one of my monitors, When it is booting up at the white Dreamcast screen with the Dreamcast logo being drawn in I realized that this is what I want for my Windows XP boot up, anybody know any way to do this?

Hmm, first of all, the white on black DOS screen cannot really be altered.
The windows boot screen was, at least for Windows 98 and ME... There was just a bmp file to replace, however, there was no way to have animations.
I really don't know what the boot screen for a Dreamcast looks like, but I doubt you can make Windows really look like one.

Sorry man.

Well...you can kinda do this maybe a couple ways... First of all you need Win98SE/98/ME. Then you need to disable the windows startup screen. Next you can either have and fullscreen AVI play when windows loads as a startup app or you could possibly make a DOS app that does the animations and is run from the autoexec.bat file. But, anyways, there really is no graceful way of doing the animation that I know of.

I think that you're on to the solution. I think that if you could find a way to get it to run from autoexec.bat, and then disable the windows startup screen that that would look vrey convincing. Loading up the AVI at Windows startup would be sorta odd--it wouldn't look like it was part of the startup routine, but rather just an AVI that was in the startup folder. While this would be easier, it would not be nearly as cool.

<-- trying to figure out how to get the into to SSX Tricky to play as the Windows boot screen.
"Welcome to Windows Tricky"

no seriously, it would be really sweet if someone could write up a simple program to run a video from the boot sequence... anyone know how to do this and would like to try? I'd pay $5 for that!

its been done already, http://www.themexp.org has tons of dreamcast boot screens, themes, icons, sounds blah blah, mac icons, everything you want. All yo ugotta do is follow the instructions to installing it. my boot screen is a mac, and so is my logon for xp, and also my entire desktop resembles a mac, look spretty cool. have fun and do back up the essential files

yes its down as of right now, they have been down last week due to a server crash, and their hosts refuse to give them space anymore, so they have been moving around. Welp, I am pretty sure the link will come back up, when? i dont know, but you can try another site Http://www.deviantart.com
