Make sure the label always faces the front of the case

😕

I'm probably a moron, but I rarely deal with cases with anything other then the absolute basics.

The label on the 4pin speaker(what it's labeled) can only go in facing up at the top of the case, or down at the bottom. Even the pictures provided show this. I know I'm not thinking straight. Someone please correct me.

Look at the instructions for the case to find out which is the + wire and which is the - wire... Look in the mobo manual to find out which pin(s) correlate to the + and -... Most cases also have the + - symbols where the connections go, so that it reduces the chance for a f**k-up. Of course, if you connect the speaker and get no post beep, turn it around and try it the other way.

I consider being able to connect the wire blocks from a case to the mobo bare basic level. Right up there with being able to use a screwdriver... Need any help with that too??

trial and error for things like this... put it in one way, and if it doesn't work, the other way is obviously the right way 🙂

Yeah, these case wires have no negative or positve labels like other cases I've dealt with. I always read the entire manual(s) before hand, hence me quoting directly from it. I don't enjoy making mistakes when I can avoid them by preparing myself. I was hoping since the case is so fequently used, someone would have first hand knowledge. No big deal.

Oh & since you like belittling people, can I direct you to the my anandtech page to list your rig, so that your signature won't take up two-thirds of your post. It really makes you look ignorant. 😛

The wires are color coded for a reason - black is always ground (which is also the signal lead in the case of a PC speaker - switched at various rates to make the sounds) the colored lead is almost always red and the positive lead (which goes to Vcc in the case of PC speaker).
