Would it be better to try and modify a US spec G35 to the Skylines level of performance or let these guys federalize a real type R?

Well if you import it you have a skyline. If you "make one" you have a bastardized g35. Maybe it's the hidden riceboy in me, or wanting to be paul walker, but those slightly older skylines are hot, and driving a right wheel drive car in the US all but assures your total and undying coolness. Those black pics that were recently posted of a skyline somebody had were sweet as heck. You'd be king of the road in one, even if your bang for buck after importing isn't very good...

You changed your original reply. But I aree with the rear wheel bias and cool factor. They look just so damn mean.

Even if you try to make a Skyline out of a G35, man, you'll have a lot of work to do. The money invested in the turbo, tranny, and AWD drive system will be more than just paying MotoRex to import it for you. Besides, it'll still be a G35, not a Skyline. You still don't have that covetted GT-R badge that belongs to just one car. I just don't get it how people can put that badge on their ricers, shame, blasphemy.

You will never be able to mod a G35 into a true R32-34 Skyline GTR. You just don't realize what you'd have to go through.

Besides, WHY? With enough money you can turn a car into a friggin helicopter but... WHY?

they should take some of that money they make and buy a better camera and take a beginning photography class.

Who in their right mind tries to sell an $80,000 car with those crappy pics?

Also, I'm assuming you mean the PREVIOUS GENERATION Skyline GT-R, which is no longer being produced. The Skylines have moved to a totally different platform, and there is currently no high perfomance version, or GT-R, being made.

What your asking is impossible, since both cars share nothing between each other (the New Skyline and the previous gen. Skyline GT-R). It's not different from saying that you want to put a Corvette's engine in a Skyline, it ain't gonna work.

I know, everything thinks of the GT-R when you say Skyline, yet there are some pretty lower performing versions of the car.

I'd pick any Skyline GT-R (R32 and above) over a G35, but that's just me.

There is only one type of Skyline worth owning, teh GT-R VSpec. For everything else, there's Supra Twin turbos.

Both of those cars have been bastardized over here because of that stupid movie... :( People slap on S14 headlights and Skyline bumpers on integras and call it baby skyline... :|

WTH are you talking about? So you'd turn down a GT-R Mspec?

EDIT: NVM, I'd never turn down any skylines, just that if i were to import a skyline, it has to be teh VSpec.
