Make fun of my Resume............

edro

Lifer
I am making a resume for Career Developement class (a rough draft)....

Tell me what I should add.....remove.....leave alone.

Any help would be greatful.

A few particular questions:
1. Should I put Walmart on there? isn't that kinda un-professional?
2. Should I put hobbies or extra-curricular stuff on there?
3. Should resumes be ONE page only? I hear if it is longer, companies may just throw it away.
4. Do I need references?

Oh yeah, here it is: Here

I think we just killed whatever box is hosting that pic. 🙂 Anyhow, I'd leave the parts about hosting midget fetish nights and beastiality out. That tends to not work so well. A friend told me that once...

No, I can't see it yet.

ALWAYS put your extra-cirr activities/ hobbies, unless they are "looking at fake brittney spears porn"... you get my drift... it gives the employer the notion that you are more than a gradegrubbing nerd (not saying you are ,becasue it never even loaed on my box) ..anyway. list the last 3 places you worked for them, and always do refs on request. if you were in school while at walmart, or anohter unprofessional job, it doesnt really matter where you worked, but that you were working, it shows great responsibility and time mgmt abilities that employers love

and they shou only be one page long, with a clear objective, and NO grammer / spelling mistakes

🙂

Is the "Fast-talking and scamming people out of money" a joke? I don't think thats how you should word it...

Yes, a few hobbies and side things that you are involved in are usually ok with resumes I think.
I have always heard they should be one page, as they are usually scanned through fast, and it should only include the most important things. Also, needs to be readable and clear. Your one long paragraph sticks out to me. Lists and bullet points are the norm I think. You also have a few grammar mistakes, and I think you should jsut put what you did. Some things in your paragraph and your list of expertise section are redundant.

No, you don't need references and I don't hitnk you need to include the part about "References being available upon request." That's just one of those things that is a given.

Good luck with your editing... Remember, Career centers and websites are great for it!

Haha, yeah sorry. I forgot about that...

I left it like that because I didn't know how to make working at Walmart sound good. What skills and stuff should I put there?

Yeah.... "Mc" is supposed to mean "son of"..... so I guess that makes me a Son of a Cracken. I think that huge monster on Clash of the Titans is a Cracken.

Yeah, he's my dad.

it's Wal-Mart not Walmart. and 'Linux KDE' along with 10 or so of those software programs could be taken off.

Hmmm..... I know how to use all of those programs fluently, so I thought I should put them on there. There are a few I was probably gonna take off, like the KDE one, but I thought putting KDE on there would show that I knew a little about user-based Linux.

Keep the bad feedback coming! Those help the most.... (I'm not being sarcastic)
