Make DVD out of MPEG/JPGs?

I have a need for software--compatible with XP or Vista--that can create a DVD (or MPEG2 format clip) out of MPEG1 video clips and JPEG images. It's for a DVD I will show on Christmas Eve.

I have ULead VideoStudio 7, but it is very slow on my 4 year old PC and isn't compatible with Vista or Windows 7, the OSes of choice on my new PC I'm waiting on. (It has been upgraded to Windows 7 but only comes with the Vista Home SP1 restore CD.) I did purchase Ulead VideoStudio Plus 11 last night (it's Vista compatible), only to discover it won't be shipped out until Monday--I need for it to already be here by then, really.

That said, I would prefer it to export to MPEG2 format, as I use TMPGEnc DVD Author (with the old PC) to make the DVDs. Again it needs to work with Vista (and preferably XP so I can get started on my work with my old PC until the new one gets here--but that's not a requirement, just a preference).

Any programs out there that can work? (Windows Movie Maker--already have it, only exports to WMV format, which you then have to convert to make DVDs of--a real pain.)

(Engineer) I know about that particular software, only does AVI files, makes it 100% useless for me. I need one that will work with MPEG1 files (640x480) and, I'd prefer, create MPEG2 files as the output. Ulead VideoStudio 7, which I have, does this--but is SLOW on my PC. (Maybe I should just go to Best Buy and get 1G of memory, I only have 512 megabytes.)

Absolutely get more memory. Will help more than you realize, and not only just the Ulead VideoStudio 7. With video, 2GB would probably be even better. Of course, the CPU running also effects video encoding/decoding tremendously also.

Oh, and sorry for the reply above not being able to help. Maybe it will help someone else! ;)
