You're better off getting another stick of Pc2700. The PC2100 can run at DDR333 but the timings would be very relax. Also, not all can do that. I'm very sure that you need to increase voltage to the DIMMs too.

pc2100 crucial is prolly the only 2100 that can do 2700.. and it can do it very easily..

I have some PC2100 Crucial that I am oc'ing to PC2700 speeds on my asus p4 rig. So, the first part of the answer is yes, you can most likely achieve pc2700 speeds with this DDR module. The second part of the answer would most likely be no, as I don't think you can run PC2100 alongside PC2700 memory and oc the PC2100. If you can do this, I'm not aware of how to do it. Most people recommend you use the same speed DDR when using multiple DIMM's. Usually, if you run two different speeds, the system defaults to the slower speed. The only way I can oc my DDR module is by doing 3:4 memory timings via my motherboard BIOS. I don't think this would work with two different speeds of DDR, although it might. You can always try.

? Why couldn't he run both at 166 if the crucial is in fact able to overclock to 166?

Heh and that's based on????? There are plenty of manufacturers that produce RAM of just as good or better quality. However if you truely believe that Crucial has something over everyone else please continue to pay their prices (I'm sure they love you for it). That's like saying a AMD manufactured 486 would OC more then a Intel manufactured 486. Or a TSMC NV35 would OC better then a IBM NV35. Even though in both examples the designs are exactly the same and the manufacturing process/requirements are exactly the same.

There is a very good chance you can. I use Crucial pc2100 at pc2700 all the time for the past year or so.

To do so you will need to tell the bios that you want to set the memory speed manually instead of automatically.(the automatic setting is called SPD) You also should run it at 2.5 cas setting instead of 2 cas, at least to start. I don't have the exact motherboard you have but hopefully you have the manual and can find out there how to make these changes in the bios settings.
