I have a removable hard drive tray and need to figure out how I can set a hard drive as removable in Win2K. I know in Win98 there is a box to check in the hard drive properties but this is not true with Win2K.

Yes, go to Control Panel, to Add/Remove Hardware and select Unplug/Remove hardware. It will bring up a menu to allow you to Unplug/Remove whatever device you choose.

Well that does not seem to work for me. Here is what I came up with. I have 2 systems and a removable drive bay in each. I go in to the device manager and uninstall the hard drive, then I can turn the key and pull the drive out. I do the same on the other system and then I switch drives. I then turn the keys back on and choose to scan for hardware changes. The drives are then found and I can access them. It seems to work I was just looking for another way to do it.
I know I can just send files over the networt on these 2 computers but I am just testing it here. I got the drive trays so I can trade hard drives with systems at different locations(Cities).

So, the Unplug option didn't work in Control Panel>Add/Remove Hardware? Hmmm...wonder what it is there for?
