The season is back on and I'm making new business cards and I'd like a new logo.

The company name is Phenix Detailing.

Definition of Phenix:

1-Mythology. A bird in Egyptian mythology that lived in the desert for 500 years and then consumed itself by fire, later to rise renewed from its ashes.
2-A person or thing of unsurpassed excellence or beauty; a paragon.

If you look at some google images of "phenix logo" there are a few good ones, i like the whole bird theme, but would also like to incorporate detailing into it, how i dunno. lol

but the money is there, waiting in paypal, to be sent to the best one.

I will design one for you, but I'm not going to waste my time doing the whole "Best one gets it" bullshit.

well make a "sample" of what it would look like. dont take to long in doing so, and if i can see the vision you see then i'll just pick you. but i cant lock myself into your design without something

I'll try later if I have the time. Busy as hell right now.

EDIT: I'm assuming you want a vector logo, not just a Photoshop job, correct?

I don't want to start a flamewar here, because people are very opinionated about this, but I have been a professional graphic designer for 8+ years, and I've designed every logo I have done in a vector format. It's fully scaleable without any quality loss which allows you to use it for all different kinds of applications. Again, just my opinion.

When I get a logo done I get the following:

- The symbol in EPS format
- The full logo in EPS format
- The logo in positive JPEG
- The logo in negative JPEG
- The logo in JPEG format in 3 different sizes for various web implimentation

Once you have a vector file you can make any size Jpeg you want.

is it supposed to be misspelled?

yes. Phenix isnt the same as pheonix.
Phenix is a rarely used variant of phoenix.

Pheonix is not a word.

are you another tightass with spelling? i gave the definition in the original post, what more do you want? OBVIOUSLY i dont mean the city in Arizona.

and i know its rare, hence why i picked it. you stick to posting, and i'll stick to running my business.

This is just the kind of spec work that devalues graphic design as a profession. If you want a logo done properly hire a Graphic Designer, if you want something that some random person comes up with in Photoshop that will be a highly unaffective advertising & communicative tool, by all means get it from here.

I understand that, however when you hire someone to do the work you shouldn't have too. It just makes it easier for the customer too.

I'm just explaining what I do. To each their own...

i guess so.

if i was a GD and saw this post, i'd do it for $50. $50 is $50. while you might fetch $200 for a logo, how often do logo request fall into your lap on a computer hardware off topic forum?

I usually get plenty more than $200 for a logo. However, I don't mind doing something for a couple of dollars to help out an ATOT'er (if I have the free time).

You have over 20K posts...

I'm sure you have a small amount of free time...

And because I know you as a graphic designer then I see no problem with you doing it, but you should see my point.

how about this.......instead of a ford urinating on a chevy or whatever, a picture of YOU pissing on some guys car...and you could call that 'Phenix waxing"

The common person looking at the name and a bird logo will think it's misspelled. I wouldn't have gone for that name if I were you. Just my 2c.
