make a DVD from mpg in Nero

I thought I could use Nero to make a DVD from an mpg file but when I use the video DVD option from the new project wizard and try to add files it expects VOB files. I thought Nero could do all the steps required? Now I need to buy something else to make VOB files?

You need Nero Vision Express to make DVD files from AVI/MPEG.

This is also an option that I just started using, and seem to get faster encodes with.

I'm pretty sure nero can convert the file. I don't have it installed right now so I can't check. If you just select DVD video I think it will be expecting the VOB files.

Even though I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition with all the things bundled with it,
nevertheless I use WinAVI for that.
