The offer expires today( 07/22/2002) . If you purchase one T193 (and sign a contract with VoiceStream/T-mobile) which costs 49.99 you get:
- $50.00 mail in rebate from VS (expires 08/31/2002)
- $125.00 mail in rebate from Amazon.com (expires 07/22/2002)
Final price is -$125.00.

Sounds like a great deal to me if you want a decent phone (nothing special) and if you want to make some $.

If you want to check/compare VoiceStream Plans go here:

the motorola t193 sucks major ish... the fone's reception is horrible compared to nokias and their menu system is so difficult to use.. i can get to almost any number i want w/ a nokia within a few button clicks..but the motorola is so tedious! boo

Remember u can't combine rebates...either u get the rebate from T-Mobile....or u get it from Amazon, but not both.

amazon says " 175 in rebates : 50 from voicestream, 125 from amazon"

pointless anyway. it expires in 50 minutes, and amazon wont sell it in calif or nevada. unless oregon/washington can get it, it's past midnite everywhere else.

Maybe not that phone, but they've got the V60g for $250 minus $250 in rebates. It's a kick arse phone. AND theyve got a local plan (local being CA and NV) that includes 3000 anytime minutes for $50 a month!!! Woohoo!!!

What about if your a current VS customer?

I called VS CS about things like this and it seems we're basically out of luck. The best bet would be to either:
1) Purchase their phones at "discounted" rates, or
2) Terminate your current account and hope that they actually delete your account from their system. It seems normally they just "turn you off" meaning if you were to come back at a later time you're not actually a new customer but just a returning one (and thus promotion's won't apply either).
3) Get a totally new account under someone else's name.

YMMV depending on the CS but that's what i got from 5 different CS' over a course of 3 days.
