Major Renegade FPS Problem with Geforce3/ Drive issue???(updated)

I just got Renegade and set it up on my machine which is
P4 1.8ghz
256mb ram
Geforce3 w/ 23.11 drivers
Soundblaster Live
Win ME

I installed it and started playing only to find out that it skips around like crazy. I have the settings on Performance on Highest at 800x600x32 with Bilinier filtering (No FSAA). When playing it slows down sometimes when turning and stuff. When buildings and things come into view it gets choppy as well. Whats going on here? Renegade sometimes drops to below 30fps and only maxes out at 60fps. . I am recieving around 90fps in Wolfenstien which is the highest i recieve. My settings for that are Maxed at 1024x768x32. Can someone please help me or give some input? What drivers are the best for my system?

If someone could help me out maybe tweaking my card using the Geforce Utility , I would be greatfull!!!!

It's the game, dont worry about it.
Do you have the 1015 patch installed?


On an unrelated note, me and 4 other guys were doing a flame rush on the AGT with all the flames going the fps on my Radeon 8500 dropped to 5

This was at 1024*768 everything at max and 16x anisotropic filtering...

whats anthriscopic filtering do? I just got fraps and played renegade using it and it dropped below 30 a lot when there were 2 tanks a building and 10 guys. It really pissed me off.
I really need someone who knows what there doing to help me tweak my geforce3 card using the geforce tweak utility. Im lost when using it.

Another thing is maybe it could be the 23.11 drives im using.

Go into the Renegade config utility and check your Sound Card settings. I was having major problems running this game with my Athlon 1.4/Radeon 8500/512Mb ram - the game took like 10 minutes to load a map and then it ran at about 10-20 FPS (I don't know how to check the FPS but it seems around that figure)!

It turned out when I did the autoconfig it didn't detect my SBLive card correctly - it set it up as a Aureal card, changing it back to an EAX card and the game runs fantastic - the maps load in about 20 seconds and I am running at 1280x1024 at full detail and it runs great!

I checked my config and it is set to EAX Creative. I still cant figure out whats going on. Can anyone please help me.
Maybe even take some time to help me optimize my geforce3 card. My Aim name is FFactoryxxxx or just post.
