MAJOR RANT: These fvckign @sshole system admins!!!!

Deleted the "remote desktop" shortcut from the start menu folder on the computers in the library and I need an RCON home NOW! Who the FVCK do they think they are just arbitrarily deciding what pieces of native windows we do or do not need?!?

I'm so glad I dont' work for these cocksvckers anymore or I'd so beat the sh!t out of someone in the morning....

can someone please right click the properties on their remote desktop icon in their start menu (accessories\communications) and tell me the path?

Remote Desktop Connection

Target: %SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe

Start In: %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%

thank's guys

M4H, been searching frantically for the last couple minutes, all I turned up was the installer... which coincidentally... told me that it was already installed and to look for it in the start menu :|

The sys admins... that's who they think they are. At least they weren't smart enough to prevent you from using it altogether.

put some of your most commonly used shortcuts on a pen drive or something...that way even if sysadmins delete them off the computer/start menu, you still have them right where you want em 🙂

It's against policy, that's enough of a reason.

let's try this one again

PUBLIC LIBRARY AT A STATE OWNED AND OPERATED SCHOOL

READ: FREE FREE FREE FREEE

I work in corperate IT. Corperate IT != Educational environment. Coperations get to dictate the best ways to do things top down. It's the other way around in the educational world. They are here to accomidate ME. I pay tuition. I pay taxes. I demand the right to use the resources I paid for in a manner non-disruptive to the rights of others.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CORPERATE WORLD

Sys Admins suck? Oh yeah. I got a whopping 8 mb of storage for my Outlook account. In just under three weeks, I've filled it up and am forced to archive my notes of. WTF?

Educational institutions operate similarly to corporations. You follow their rules, or you go somewhere else.

No, it's not. I helped write this school's network administration policies before I got a better offer. They just think they know better what I want to do with the comptuer than I do and deleted "extraneous and confusing information." To this day, I am the only administrator on the network after hours and the one of the only people with the authority to reverse access suspensions on the residental network. I have never needed M$ administrator access and have never asked for it. This kind of stuff is just unbelieveable.
