1. IDE CD-ROMS and Hard Drives Are Recognized As SCSI?!?
(Cannot Burn CDs) :(

2. I am using MS Internet Keyboard Pro and MS Intellimouse Explorer, both USB. They both work but in device manager there are the corresponding devices, "PC/AT Enhanced PS/2 Keyboard (101/102Key)" and "Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse (Intellimouse)", with yellow "!", how can i get rid of this or fix this?

First problem is much more important, PLEASE HELP!

Are they connected to the standard IDE controllers? Or are they connected with add on controllers like the HPT controllers? They will be seen as SCSI if they are connected through add on controllers.

I have an HP 8200i CD-RW and an extra generic TEAC Cd-Rom, both of which are IDE. Like you in Win2k they appear in device manager as SCSI, and initially I had some performance problems with the burner. What solved my problem was simply installing the latest hp drivers, and (since I use adaptec burning software)then the adaptec update followed by the patch for win2k pro. I The installation wizard for the burning software however was not win2k compatible so I had to use win 2k compatibility help described by this link to make the install work. Also, search the microsoft update site for win2k compatibility with your hardware to make sure it is compliant. Good luck.

check compatibility of nero with win2k is my first suggestion. win2kpro recognizes all my IDE devices as scsi but i have no problems with their operation. can you be more specific about the type of error you are getting?

Nero works with Win2k..just not with every burner. One of our workstations here at work has nero and doesn't work, the other one does...one has a TEAD CD-R and the other has a Yamaha CD-RW (the one that works..)
