Now i might have missed something in the forums or just wasn't typing the correct search words or something. I've been looking for around 5 - 6 days for drivers that work for this desktop i'm using now. It's completely rebuilt but i don't know how compatible the parts are. Here is my best attempt to try and tell you what i'm working with. I'm also not that pc tech savvy just to clear some things up.
Windows XP home 32 bit SP2
Mobo - A8S-X
Mobo Chipset- SiS 756, AMD Hammer
bios type - AMI
bios version - 0306
Processor (cpu?)- amd athalon 64 processor 3800+ (2.4 ghz i think)
ram - 1.50 gb
vid. card - Nvidia Geforce 6200 TC (turbocache)
pci card - wmp45gs (linksys wireless pci adapter with speed booster)
onboard soundcard that im using atm - Soundmax Digital Audio (ac970? i think thats right)
Power Supply (psu?) - 500 watt max
I've updated my wireless driver the amd processor driver and the onboard soundcard driver.
When i install my vid. card drivers the screen keeps flashing no matter what versions ive used.
I've used drivers from nvidia's site, laptopvideo2go's site, and i think the site was called tweakforce but i've used their drivers.
None have worked and the same thing has happened everytime.
Plus when i go full screen on a video it will reboot the pc and if i go fullscreen on my video games (World of Warcraft, quakelive, and even Quake2 :/ ) it will reboot.
I kept messing with the bios settings and i would get it to go to the desktop a few times but the rest of the time it would act like its booting onto the desktop then it would just go to a blank screen then my monitor would shut off like i didnt have any vid. card installed. I know the cards good i installed it in my uncles pc and it ran like a champ with drivers that updated from the microsoft website but i cant get those to work either. I still think it has something to do with this bios. I was wondering if there is some kind of setting in the bios that i need to change to get this vid. card to properly work. I'm sitting at the computer i need help on right now i've just got the vid. drivers unistalled. Oh and i've used the driver cleaner to get rid of any extra drivers that might be lying around to cause a malfunction. If i can think of anymore info i'll deffinitely sure to edit my post. Another thing is that this is a completely reformatted and built pc. I'm also wondering if the vid. card is compatible with my mobo, i've downloaded the manual and looked through it but really couldn't make much since of all of it. It did show me how to reset the CMOS? jumper config. by moving it from 1-2 to 2-3 and all that did was reset my bios and i even pulled the battery out to try that. Same thing happened, but i could have done that while i was in the BIOS and reset the settings to default. :/
Thank You so much in the future for your responses and help if you can help.
P.S. - if this is in the wrong forum i'm sorry i usually don't use forums that much at all unless im just searching them for info that might help me but i'm stumped as of this moment.
