WW2 Online? Wut?

I read about that game many years ago. It sounded so bad ass. So I bought it. It was decent fun but awfully buggy and just flawed in some ways. It was suppose to be pay-to-play but they extended it free for quite a while, then I think it flopped. Playnet then tried to do something with it.

Is this the same game? Looks somewhat similar.

You know that could still be a great game. Like a MMO Battlefield. Joint Ops somewhat got there with 150 player games.

Why don't you put the game title in the thread title? There are tons of major online FPSs out there these days. I've never played this game but reading that patch log did not get me excited one little bit, just a bunch of graphical tweaks. Certainly not enough to spur my interest in a game that I previously had no interest in.

Battleground Europe has one huge fan in my brother. He won't ever shut up about it. He gave up WoW to play it.

He showed me this earlier. Looks decent, but the entire engine needs a facelift, not just this graphics. How on earth do I get 25-75fps with the PC in my sig when L4D gets 100 and DOD:S gets 120-250.

Oh yeah, BG:E is completely single threaded.

EDIT: The reason why these people are so excited about it is because the game looks really bad in its current form. It is a HUGE jump in graphic quality.

However, the game for me suffers from terrible network lag.

game has no lag at all, not sure what kind of connection you have but any type of high speed DSL or cable connection that is basic will give you basically no lag at all.

I know the graphics aren't pretty but you still need a pretty beefy CPU (something modern) and video card to handle the draw distances and mass of players online
