WTF is up with this 'Download Insurance'?

Download Insurance is a service that provides for a back up copy of the Digital Good(s) in your shopping cart to be stored for future download. A back up copy of these Digital Good(s) will be available to you for download for up to eighteen (18) months from the date of purchase.

Now there's no need to worry should your computer fail. Just login to your account to download the Digital Good(s) again.

Is that implying that once I checkout I only get one 'chance' to download the game and if something goes wrong I'm shit out of luck?

Is anyone hoping this game won't be as buggy as 2009? There are some hilarious bugs on youtube.

I think 2K has already released one patch for the game, and is working on another...

My problem with this one is that it fails to update on my x64 PC because the program files path is C:\Program Files (x86)\

At least that was the problem some 2-3 months ago.

I tried two different CC's and it won't go through. I guess they are limiting the deal. It looks like the game is buggy anyway from looking at the 2k forums.

No, many other people (myself included) are having the same issue. What a joke.

I successfully purchased it.

Then I went back and tried to buy another one in order to give it to my brother...and now that one won't go through.

This is still $2.99 more than I'd pay for a 2k Sports port without reading multiple reviews raving about the PC version. I've been burned too much by their terrible ports in the past to spend even $1 on this one without verification that it has been done better. NBA 2k10 was unplayable without a controller and then still buggy with one.

Check the cards for charges. I've seen a lot of complaints of cards not working but still getting the charges on there. You'll probably have to dispute with your CC to get them removed.

Baseball Simulator 1.000 for NES is better than any new baseball game. I wish it weren't so, but I can never find a better one.

MLB 10 The Show, or even last years version should put the issue to rest.

I did earlier, and I have at least two of the $2.99 charges, last time I checked. I imagine they're just holds that will expire/go away, but I really just want to buy the game. I'm super pumped for baseball season!

Figured I'd put my .02 out there, I haven't had any issues with NBA 2K10, coming from 2K9. I appreciate that they're at least making the effort here (looking at you, EA...) enough to support them. Haven't had any issues with either game (using a controller in both, of course... Keyboard has always been iffy at best in sports games).

Granted, the reviews for this game aren't particularly good, but still worth $2.99 IMO.

Interesting.
I was under the complete impression that 2K* sports games are much better than their EA counterparts from most sports nerds I know on the internet.
Is that true or is it just that those people hate anything EA in general?

I'm not a sports nerd and can never see myself owning a "realistic" sport game...Never have, and never will.
FIFA, Madden, NBA, NFL, and other yearly seasonal sports games heck no.

At the same time, a lot of people prefer consoles for games that do well with a controller and expect a PC title to have decent mouse and keyboard implementation unless specifically advertised otherwise.

Anybody out there thinking about picking this up should be aware that 2k Sports has been putting very little effort into their PC ports lately.

I can't speak for your friends, but I've bought and enjoyed previous 2k sports on a console although I don't think the MLB2k franchise is anywhere near The Show franchise for baseball. However, I made the mistake of picking up a few of the 2k sports titles for the PC due to a great steam sale and they were complete disasters.

It appears that my fears are well-founded regarding this 2k port, as Gamespot just rated it a 5.5 (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/majorleaguebaseball2k10/review.html) with the following criticism: "wide-ranging glitches ... make the PC port a much more troublesome game than its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 cousins."

I got the error when trying to check out with my card(s) and now have 2 PRE-AUTHORIZATION charges of $2.99 on each card. So I have 4 charges that will hopefully just go away since I was never able to successfully checkout and never received an email confirmation or anything. It's going to suck having to spend time on the phone fighting 4 $2.99 charges. Just my luck.
