I had to reformat and reinstall XP Pro this morning. I have two SATA drives. Before the reformat, I placed important files (including all of my e-mail) on the second SATA drive. I reformatted and reinstalled Windows, and even installed the SATA drivers during the install. The drive I installed to is running fine.
However, the secondary SATA drive shows up in Windows, but when I click it, it says that this drive is not formatted. But it's definitely formatted (in NTFS) and has plenty of data on it. I desperately need to get to this data. I don't understand what the problem is, because I installed SATA drivers during the Windows installation.
Anyone know how I can get Windows to see that this drive is already formatted? Any help much appreciated.
