I have a Thunderbird 1.1ghz, KT7 raid, 512mb pc133 cas2, 42gb IBM, HP 10x burner, Pioneer 115 DVD, and a Geforce 2 Ultra. Quake and Hitman run awesome. When I try to play Unreal Tournement, Giants, or worse... RUNE, my computer slugs down to a crawl. I have the Detonator 3 drivers installed and direct x 8. It was doing it before I installed Dx8 so I dont think its that. I have to reformat my HD because of problems with software, and Ive been changing stuff within my Award Modular BIOS v6.00pg. Not sure what the hell is causing this slowdown. It never use to do it before I formated my HD. Now that everything is back on, RUNE, UT and seemingly everything that uses direct 3d is slowing down severely. Any suggestions???

Do you have all the latest VIA drivers and latest NVIDIA drivers installed? Are you using win2k or win9x? I helped my friend setup his Athlon 700 and it didn't work very well at first. Reformatted installed bare win2k setup and before anything else, we put every VIA driver we could find on. Then installed everything else. Works like a champ now. Even seems faster than my p3-866 for some things. And what's with the 3 foot bong? That's too much smoke. Ever take a brown hit off that? Two of those and you'd be so high you'd piss your pants, seen it happen. Remember it's not the size of your bong that counts, it's how you use it.

win98 se.

I got those games to run cool after I set their app to OpenGL. It runs smooth as mollasses.

All we smoke here in the Bay Area is straight chronic. Very potent stuff.
