well duh, do you think they want the people to know that 10 million illegals just got free food, rent, healthcare, and education on the taxpays dime?

Take it from the other side of the equation. Provide a reasoning why we as a nation must mandate the speech be broadcast across ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX.

And I'm equal non-partisan on this topic. I didn't devote time to watching Dubya as he gave his speeches, just like I don't with Obama.

Of course. You'll let Drudge, Newsmax, the American Stinker & Fox filter the content before you'll even touch it. It's like Ebola- can't be too careful.

You'll be back to rave about it after being programmed with the Party Line, I'm sure.

You actually believe that? Really?

Perhaps you could offer a source for that information rather than just talking out your ass.

-snip-
..the [administration] officials decided not to formally request it from ABC, NBC, and CBS.

Looks to me like it just might be that Obama doesn't want the speech seen by anybody but the Hispanic audience.

It's Obama's choice on which night to make his speech.

It's his choice how long the speech would be (a short speech just result in a minor delay to programming).

It's his choice not to request that his speech be aired live.

He's given umpteen speeches and had no problem requesting they be televised live by all the networks. This seems abnormal to me.

Be honest. Faux is also skipping the speech...

(and I mentioned this in the Obummer immigration thread)

Fox is showing it, it even says so on their website. I'm not so sure the OP's article is correct.

Really?

because it seems perfectly normal to me. I think it's perfectly normal for news agencies and broadcast companies to NOT air something that is a net dollar loss. People will tune out Obama and go to the cable stations lickety-split.

Obama doesn't make them $$... he is not popular anymore. period.

So they have no obligation to report the news other than $$? Sounds like what the R companies are accused of.

Conservatives have been talking about the Liberal media for so long despite this not being the case. What is the argument this time?

Let me get this straight: The "not liberal" news media decides to not EDIT: air Obama's speech on a massive political development that a large % of Americans would find highly objectionable, which just so happens to be timed with the Ferguson info expected tomorrow and just so happens to be on the night of the Latin Grammys, and that's not an indication of liberal news media bias? Buwhahaha!

What outlets didn't report on it? The networks didn't show the speech live but I'm pretty sure they all reported on it.

On the other hand, this is reasonable and common sense leadership from any president.
And all have tried it. Yes, even lord all mighty Ronnie Reagan. Praised be the high one.
Immigration is a huge problem in America, and pretending it isn't, isn't helping anything.
Like Obama said tonight, the amnesty fear is to do nothing. Hinting that republicans in congress are actually supporting the ultimate amnesty, to do nothing.
And that observation hit the nail on the head. Or out of the ballpark. Over the fence.
Etc etc.

Networks refusing to carry this? No big deal. Not really.

Queue the republicans...
Remember that South Park episode about the senior citizens driving, and then banned from getting driver license?
So then they had that senior citizen meeting, but couldn't remember what they were mad about?
"Aw, hmmmm, was it was it the kids skate boarding on the side walks?"

Now it's time for republicans to remind us, gee... what was our tantrum all about?
Oh, we know, the kids skate boarding on the side walks....
Republicans in congress. :D Ya got to love em, like an Ebola outbreak.

I know right! Of course the law requires the president to declare any executive order to the public (in this case on tv). I mean it's not like Obama had a choice in not telling the American people what he intends to do. If he's required to do it the best time to do it would have been on Friday night like all other politicians do when they have to tell the public something the public won't like.
The stupid liberal media!
