major 3rd ram?

I work for a pc shop in the UK and we mainly sell budget systems and I'm trying to decide with my boss what memory we should use for these systems(256mb) , our choices are:-

OEM which at the moment says vtech on it.. £18.30
Major 3rd which seems to have stayed as PQI for a while now £19.80
branded (kingston value) £22.10

Other question is whether to use ddr400 or 333 (£0.8 difference.) The systems are all socket A semprons so we only need 333. So between top speed branded and lowest is about £4.50+vat. mobo is asrock k7s41.

My thinking for using major 3rd PQI ddr 400 is that we could stock only this memory and buy it in bulk as it would be compatible with any of the systems we build.

PQI is fine, although does not come with the trust that Kingston has. I would pay the 3 dollars more per-unit and get the kingston over the PQI, and DDR 400, would be the best bet, soon enough it will be cheaper than 333(it already is in most places), plus, its now pretty much standard.

I'd like to put kingston in all the systems but I might have a job convincing my boss that it's worth it. ddr400 does sound like a good idea though. Is the kingston likely to have a lower cas latency, i saw in the specs it's cl3 but some of the unbranded memory i've seen listed as cl2.5 . I do have a lot of repairs come through our shop which are memory related but as far as systems we send out oem and major 3rd we haven't had a single memory rma.

if profit is the bottomline, I go with cheapest RAM possible. Kingston is just a company that assembles the chips onto the module and puts a warranty of the product. There are only a handful of chip makers anyways, so quality is mostly the same. I personally believe modern electronics have gotten so good these days that if the RAM works in day one, it will work for a few years no problem. Since you sell these computers and likely include a 1 yr warranty, the RAM is UNLIKELY to fail within that time.

I'd go w/ the PQI DDR 400 it seems to have the best price performance.
