A previous post I submitted, I asked how to save folder/file permissions when doing a copy, on MS Office files located on an NT4.0 server. I was told of 2 different utilities I could use. Ok.. great so far...
So, here's what started this all, and now prompted this next question.
I have alot of MS Office 97 files on an NT4.0 server which I will need to convert to Office 2000. At first I thought I'd just "copy" them to another file, and then do the convert. I found the "copy" command did not save the permissions, hence the above question.
Now..I just figured out <yeah I'm a bit slow>, that when "Converting" from 97 to 2000, Conversion does not save the permissions either. So the above "copy" solution will not do me any good either.
I guess my original question should have been: How do I maintain Folder/File permissions when converting from MS Office to MS Office 2000?
