I heard the song on "the beat" in Vancouver BC, and *I think* I heard it when I was in California earlier this month. It has an old skool beat sort of something Toots and the Maytals might have used. Anyone know which song I might be talking about? I believe it must be fairly new. Problem is I can't remember any of the lyrics or who sang it. It sounded like a white guy/group but I could be wrong. Please let me know if you know what song it might be!

Song that might be suggested but definitely not it:

Its not anything by Sean Paul
Its not Paris Hilton's song

Edited to Add:
Its not Matisyahu(at least not "king without a crown" or "Youth")
Its not a Damian Marley song.

On a side note, its interesting that there are a handful of reggae artists in the mainstream at the same time. Cool to see...

it wasnt Damian Marley or Matisyahu(at least it wasnt king without a crown). It sounded like an alternative band doing a reggae song, but it was pretty cool. It was sort of mellow(no crazed rapping like Matisyahu), and didnt have a heavy beat(like Damian Marely songs).

Thanks for the suggestions, keep em coming! I know it will come up soon enough.

Fmr12b, it definitely had a 311 feel to it(very similar to "Don't tread on me"), but I did a quick search and it doesnt look like they have released any new songs? It was definitely had there sound though(as far as type of music). Oh and it wasn't there Amber song either...

Sniper, I did a search for "ghetto story" and all I got was rap songs... please let me know what group you may be referring to.
