Main site and forum passwords not matching?

I have one password for my forum account here...

but when I try to log in to the main site(anandtech.com)..

It tells me my password is incorrect, when I'm using the same password for the forums and the main site.

(I know it's not as secure, but I hate having to remember too many passwords.)

What's causing the problem? This is on Windows 10 64-bit,with Google Chrome 92.0.4515.131 64-bit.
 
The problem is caused by AnandTech.com and forums.anandtech.com requiring separate accounts and passwords. We at the forums did not choose for it to be that way, but we have no say in it. Sorry. 🙁
